Trainee Quality Control Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Trainee Quality Control Engineer to support inspection, testing, quality documentation, and process improvement activities in an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role is suitable for freshers and candidates with up to 2 years of experience. Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspection of raw materials, components, fabricated parts, machined parts, and assemblies. Inspect dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, welding, fabrication, and assembly quality as per approved drawings and specifications. Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other inspection tools. Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, GD&T, and dimensional tolerances. Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Stores, and Project teams to resolve quality-related issues. Inspect supplier materials and maintain supplier inspection, rejection, and quality records. Identify non-conforming materials and ensure proper segregation and disposition. Prepare Inspection Reports, NCRs, Rejection Reports, and other quality documentation. Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action, and Preventive Action (CAPA). Assist in maintaining quality procedures and improving manufacturing processes. Support final inspection to ensure machines and components meet company and customer quality requirements before dispatch. Skills Required Quality Control and Quality Assurance fundamentals Engineering drawing and BOM interpretation Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances Measuring instruments and inspection techniques Basic knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly NCR, RCA, CAPA, and rejection handling Quality documentation and reporting MS Excel and basic computer skills Good communication and coordination skills Attention to detail and problem-solving ability Eligibility BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Freshers are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Inspection in engineering/manufacturing industries are preferred.
