Senior Production Engineer – Mechanical

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Engineer – Mechanical with strong expertise in welding and metal fabrication for BMU system manufacturing. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in managing shop-floor production, supervising fabrication teams, and ensuring high-quality welding standards. The role requires extensive knowledge of stainless steel (SS), mild steel (MS), and aluminium fabrication processes, along with the ability to deliver projects within quality and production timelines. Key Responsibilities Plan, supervise, and monitor day-to-day production activities related to welding and fabrication. Manage fabrication of BMU systems and mechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Perform and oversee MIG, TIG, and ARC welding operations while ensuring adherence to welding standards. Supervise welders, fabricators, and production technicians to achieve productivity and quality targets. Inspect weld quality, joint strength, dimensional accuracy, alignment, and surface finishing. Interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications accurately. Coordinate cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, assembly, and final fabrication activities. Ensure timely completion of production schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards. Identify welding defects and implement corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with production planning, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to optimize manufacturing processes. Monitor material utilization, minimize wastage, and improve production efficiency. Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and standard operating procedures. Required Skills Strong expertise in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding processes Hands-on experience in SS, MS, and Aluminium fabrication Ability to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Knowledge of heavy fabrication and structural manufacturing Welding inspection and quality control Production planning and shop-floor management Team leadership and manpower supervision Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Good understanding of fabrication tools, fixtures, and assembly techniques Knowledge of welding defects, inspection methods, and corrective actions Preferred Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical production with a focus on welding and fabrication. Prior experience in BMU systems, façade access equipment, structural fabrication, heavy engineering, or related manufacturing industries will be preferred. Educational Qualification Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
