Purchase Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer to support procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and purchase order activities for engineering and manufacturing requirements. The candidate will coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices. Source and procure machined components, fasteners, bearings, electrical items, raw materials, fabrication items, castings, forgings, and MRO materials. Identify new suppliers and maintain professional relationships with existing vendors. Send RFQs based on BOMs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements. Collect and compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery timelines, and payment terms. Prepare quotation comparison statements and assist in processing Purchase Orders. Follow up with suppliers for order confirmations, deliveries, quality issues, shortages, and replacements. Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Stores, and Accounts teams for material requirements and invoice-related issues. Read and understand basic engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. Maintain purchase records, supplier databases, price records, order trackers, and delivery status reports. Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery. Skills Required Purchase and procurement knowledge Vendor development and supplier management RFQ and quotation comparison Purchase Order processing Basic understanding of engineering drawings and BOMs Good follow-up and negotiation skills MS Excel and documentation skills Coordination and communication skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes is an advantage Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in Purchase, Procurement, Sourcing, or Vendor Development, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing company.
