FP&A Analyst (Financial Planning & Analysis)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, profitability analysis, and management reporting. This role requires strong Excel expertise, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior management. Candidates with experience using AI-powered tools to enhance financial modeling and reporting will have an added advantage. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning & Forecasting Build and maintain comprehensive three-statement financial models (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow). Develop driver-based financial models with centralized assumptions and dynamic formulas. Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly rolling forecasts. Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making. Monitor business performance against forecasts and recommend corrective actions. 2. Financial Analysis & Unit Economics Analyze profitability across products, customers, business units, and revenue streams. Evaluate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Operating Expenses (OpEx) for cost optimization. Calculate and monitor key financial metrics, including: Gross Margin Net Margin Contribution Margin Break-even Analysis Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) Identify profit improvement opportunities and margin leakages. 3. Budgeting, MIS & Reporting Prepare Monthly MIS reports comparing Actual vs Budget vs Forecast. Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful business insights. Develop financial dashboards and automated reporting templates. Improve reporting efficiency by reducing manual processes through automation. 4. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Communication Present financial insights using clear dashboards, charts, and executive summaries. Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Leadership. Support management with data-driven decision-making and strategic planning. 5. AI-Driven Financial Modeling Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms to improve productivity. Generate and optimize advanced Excel formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF, Pivot Tables, etc.). Troubleshoot Excel errors and automate repetitive tasks using VBA or AI-assisted solutions. Use AI for data cleaning, financial analysis, report generation, and simplifying financial insights for stakeholders. Stay updated with emerging AI technologies applicable to finance and FP&A functions. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or related field. CA, CMA, CFA (Pursuing/Completed), MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification is preferred. 3–6 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, or Financial Modeling. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including: Financial Modeling Pivot Tables Power Query Advanced Formulas Data Validation Strong understanding of: Budgeting & Forecasting Financial Statements Variance Analysis Cost Analysis Business Finance Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar is preferred. Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is an advantage. Familiarity with AI tools for finance automation is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
