We are looking for a Field Agri Officer to collect and analyze on-ground intelligence related to pigeon pea (Tur) and other pulses. The role involves regular village, farm, FPO and mandi visits to monitor crop conditions, acreage, yield, arrivals, prices and quality. The candidate will support sourcing decisions through accurate field data, stakeholder engagement and timely reporting Key Responsibilities Conduct field visits to monitor sowing, acreage, crop health, pest/disease conditions and harvest timelines. Collect crop samples and conduct yield estimation and crop-cut experiments. Track mandi prices, arrivals, quality, moisture levels and market trends. Develop relationships with farmers, FPOs, traders, aggregators and local agriculture stakeholders. Collect and document quality samples from farms, FPOs and mandis. Maintain village-wise crop, price, arrivals and quality records. Submit weekly reports with photos, GPS locations and field observations. Identify and report supply disruptions, quality issues and significant market changes. Support farmer/FPO onboarding and provide basic guidance on quality and post-harvest practices. Follow company policies related to ethics, data privacy and field safety. Required Skills Knowledge of pulses, especially pigeon pea/Tur, crop cycles and basic agronomy. Understanding of APMC/mandi operations, FPO procurement and local agricultural markets. Experience with agricultural sampling and moisture testing. Good data collection skills using mobile apps, Excel or Google Sheets. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Marathi and/or Kannada proficiency with working Hindi preferred. Basic English for reporting is an advantage. Comfortable using smartphones, GPS, WhatsApp and Excel. Eligibility Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Rural Management or a related field. Diploma holders with relevant field experience may also be considered. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; 2–5 years in pulses/cereals/oilseeds is preferred. Valid two-wheeler and driving licence required. Willingness to travel 75–80% of the time and work in rural/field conditions. Key Performance Indicators Timely coverage of assigned villages and mandis. Accurate and complete field data with supporting photographs/GPS records. Reliable crop acreage, yield and market intelligence. Timely identification of crop, quality and market risks. Proper adherence to sampling, documentation and reporting procedures.
