Engineering Trainee

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Engineering Trainee to support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities at the 3200 MW NTPC Mouda facility, comprising 500 MW subcritical and 660 MW supercritical units. The candidate will assist in ensuring safe plant operations, improving efficiency, supporting maintenance activities, and maintaining high equipment availability. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in advanced thermal power plant operations and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Operation Profile Assist in safe and efficient operation of thermal power plant units from the Central Control Room (CCR). Monitor and maintain critical operating parameters such as: Main steam temperature and pressure Vacuum levels Drum levels Plant efficiency parameters Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during normal operations and emergency conditions. Support safe handling of unit trips, breakdowns, and transient operating conditions. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Maintenance Profile Support preventive, routine, shutdown, and breakdown maintenance activities. Assist in maintenance of: High-pressure boilers Steam turbines Electrical systems (switchgears, transformers, HT/LT motors) Support troubleshooting activities for auxiliary systems: Coal Handling Plant (CHP) Ash Handling Plant (AHP) Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Assist in spare parts management, inventory requirements, and technical documentation. Coordinate with OEM teams and support preparation of technical specifications for procurement.
