Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Solar Projects)

Job Description

Geie Solar Products India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of solar power projects across India. The ideal candidate should have strong electrical fundamentals, practical knowledge of solar PV systems, and the flexibility to travel extensively for project execution and maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities Conduct site surveys and assess electrical feasibility for solar projects. Supervise installation and commissioning of solar PV systems, including solar panels, inverters, AC/DC panels, cabling, earthing, and lightning protection systems. Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of rooftop and ground-mounted solar plants. Troubleshoot electrical faults, inverter alarms, generation issues, and protection system failures. Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), cable schedules, load calculations, equipment layouts, and BOQs. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, customers, and internal project teams. Ensure all electrical work complies with approved drawings, safety regulations, and quality standards. Maintain commissioning reports, maintenance records, testing documents, and site progress reports. Coordinate with DISCOM and utility authorities for metering, grid connectivity, and related approvals. Travel across project sites throughout India as per business requirements. Required Skills Electrical Maintenance Solar Panel Installation & Commissioning Solar PV Systems Electrical Troubleshooting Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance Inverter Maintenance Reading Electrical Drawings & SLDs Earthing & Lightning Protection AutoCAD (Preferred) MS Office Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. ITI (Solar Technician - Electrical) candidates with relevant experience may also apply. Experience 1–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, solar EPC, commissioning, operations & maintenance (O&M), or renewable energy projects. Prior experience in the solar industry will be preferred. Preferred Candidate Profile Good understanding of solar PV modules, string configurations, inverters, and monitoring systems. Knowledge of rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations. Familiarity with AC/DC distribution, net metering, grid-connected systems, and DISCOM processes. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills. Willingness to travel extensively across PAN India. Valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
